About the cobas liat system
The cobas liat system is a compact benchtop real-time PCR instrument that brings molecular testing to the point of care. Each assay comes as a self-contained tube: the instrument automates reagent preparation, nucleic acid extraction, inhibitor removal, PCR amplification, real-time detection, and result interpretation, with no separate sample prep step. Results come back in 20 minutes or less depending on the assay. The menu covers respiratory targets, including a single test that detects and differentiates SARS-CoV-2, influenza A, influenza B, and RSV from one swab, plus group A strep, chlamydia/gonorrhea/Mycoplasma genitalium, and C. difficile.
