About the CoaguChek XS Plus System
The CoaguChek XS Plus system is a CLIA-waived point-of-care coagulation meter that quantitatively determines prothrombin time and reports it as an INR, using the CoaguChek XS PT Test strip. It runs on fresh capillary whole blood from a fingerstick or non-anticoagulated venous whole blood, needs a sample of at least 8 microliters, and displays the result in about one minute over a measuring range of INR 0.8 to 8.0. It is designed for managing patients on oral anticoagulation therapy with vitamin K antagonists such as warfarin.
