About the FREND System
The FREND System is a compact microfluidic immunofluorescence instrument that produces quantitative immunoassay results from disposable single-use cartridges. NanoEnTek describes it as a one-drop, three-step operation: sample is loaded onto the cartridge's plastic microchip, where it is mixed, reacted, and separated on-chip, and the instrument reports a quantitative result in about three minutes. A code chip supplied with each lot handles lot-to-lot calibration, and a QC cartridge checks instrument integrity. NanoEnTek states the FREND System is 510(k)-cleared, with FDA clearance for the PSA Plus, TSH, Free T4, Testosterone, and Vitamin D cartridges.
