The Pentra ES 60 is an open-tube bench-top hematology instrument from HORIBA Medical, reporting 26 parameters as a CBC with a 5-part white cell differential. It combines impedance, cytochemistry, and optical absorbance measurement using HORIBA's DHSS and MDSS technologies, counting basophils through a dedicated channel and additionally resolving atypical lymphocytes and large immature cells. HORIBA publishes a throughput of up to 60 samples per hour from 30 µL of whole blood in CBC mode and 53 µL with the differential. HORIBA lists this instrument as discontinued.
