About the BD MAX System

The BD MAX System is a fully automated, walk-away PCR platform that handles nucleic acid extraction, amplification, and detection in one instrument. It runs 1 to 24 samples and multiple different assays in the same run, with a menu covering enteric, respiratory, sexually transmitted infection, women's health, and healthcare-associated infection testing, plus open-system reagents for laboratory-developed tests. Hands-on time is under a minute and a half per specimen and about 15 minutes per run. Learn more about the instrument at the manufacturer's product page.

Why practices connect the MAX

The BD MAX can mix 24 samples and several different assays in one run, so results arrive in batches that someone then has to sort back to the right patients. Connecting the system posts each result to the correct chart automatically as the run completes and notifies the clinician who ordered it. No retyping panel results, no batch reconciliation on paper.

Send MAX results to your EHR

Results from the MAX file into whichever EHR you run, matched to the order where you use one. We connect to any EHR or EMR that accepts results.

MAX connectivity questions

Can the MAX connect to my EHR?

Yes. ConnectivityWise interfaces the BD MAX and posts its results into your EHR automatically, matched to the order where you use one, or filed directly where you don't. Nobody retypes a value.

Which EHRs can the MAX send results to?

Any EHR or EMR that accepts results, including Epic, athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, NextGen, Oracle Health, Greenway, and PointClickCare. Automatic result upload works with any order and results workflow.

Does quality control from the MAX get captured?

ConnectivityWise captures quality control results alongside patient results, so your CLIA records are complete when an inspector asks. What a given instrument reports varies by device, so we confirm exactly what your MAX emits during implementation.

What does it take to connect a MAX?

The Data Sync Agent, one small install on any Windows computer in your organization, collects results from the instrument and syncs them securely to the ConnectivityWise cloud. A single installation covers every instrument and location you have, and a named human guides the setup and validation end to end.
