About the CELL-DYN Ruby Hematology System

The CELL-DYN Ruby is a hematology system for medium-volume laboratories, reporting a complete blood count with a 5-part white cell differential plus reticulocytes. White cells and the differential are analyzed by Abbott's four-angle optical MAPSS (Multi-Angle Polarized Scatter Separation) technology, platelets by dual-angle optical analysis, and red cells by three-dimensional optical measurement. Reticulocytes use a supravital New Methylene Blue staining method. In autoloader mode it runs up to 84 CBC-with-differential samples per hour, drawing 150 microliters in open mode or 230 microliters from the loader, and the whole system operates on four reagents. Learn more about the instrument at the manufacturer's product page.

Why practices connect the CELL-DYN Ruby

A medium-volume lab moves too many samples for anyone to be hand-keying CBCs into the chart. Connect the CELL-DYN Ruby and results reach the record automatically as each run completes, with staff notified. No printed worklists, no retyping, nothing lost between the instrument and the EHR.

Send CELL-DYN Ruby results to your EHR

Results from the CELL-DYN Ruby file into whichever EHR you run, matched to the order where you use one. We connect to any EHR or EMR that accepts results.

CELL-DYN Ruby connectivity questions

Can the CELL-DYN Ruby connect to my EHR?

Yes. ConnectivityWise interfaces the Abbott CELL-DYN Ruby and posts its results into your EHR automatically, matched to the order where you use one, or filed directly where you don't. Nobody retypes a value.

Which EHRs can the CELL-DYN Ruby send results to?

Any EHR or EMR that accepts results, including Epic, athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, NextGen, Oracle Health, Greenway, and PointClickCare. Automatic result upload works with any order and results workflow.

Does quality control from the CELL-DYN Ruby get captured?

ConnectivityWise captures quality control results alongside patient results, so your CLIA records are complete when an inspector asks. What a given instrument reports varies by device, so we confirm exactly what your CELL-DYN Ruby emits during implementation.

What does it take to connect a CELL-DYN Ruby?

The Data Sync Agent, one small install on any Windows computer in your organization, collects results from the instrument and syncs them securely to the ConnectivityWise cloud. A single installation covers every instrument and location you have, and a named human guides the setup and validation end to end.
